The deficit, or more properly ';Budget Deficit'; is the (negative) difference between what the government planned to spend and what they actually did spend.

Yah hes doubling it and then tripling it in 10 years, and that's if we dont spend another penny after 2 weeks ago, lol. He rose to power saying he'd lose the deficit, but then triples it using the excuse of ';we need to spend our way out of recession!';, and 5 years later the term ';quadrillion'; is used often in conversation regarding the deficit.
I am no economist but if you raise the deficit by 5 fold then any decrease in it is a positive. This is Hussein's plan. When the deficit starts to come down in about, oh, 20 30 years he will be able to say ';I told you so';.
