Why do some here bear false witness against their Wiccan neighbors with those standard cut & paste answers?

Every question asked about Witches or Wiccans, a couple of members (who might be the same person), without actually answering the question, put up a standard cut %26amp; paste ';warning'; that is probably plagerized from some Christian site.

What's sad is, they're being duped by this site to break their own commandment. For example, their speal says:

That Wiccans draw parallels between themselves and Christians to earn credibility-- LIE. Wiccans draw parallels because they see connections between all faiths. Wiccans don't hold Christianity to be any more credible than any other religion.

Wiccans ';worshipped and served created things, rather than the Creator';-- LIE. Wiccans revere the creation out of respect for the Creator.

I'm not even getting into the differences of opinion on whether Wicca is against God or not, or if the Bible is the authority on this or just mythology that doesn't matter. Why do some here bear false witness against their Wiccan neighbors with those standard cut %26amp; paste answers?
Don't forget the many people who claim to have been Wiccan and come up with all sorts of atrocities, like animal sacrifice, demonic possession and a host of other falsehoods,

)O(Why do some here bear false witness against their Wiccan neighbors with those standard cut %26amp; paste answers?
Catholics have the same problem. Standard cut and paste answers from an anti-Catholic site full of lies such as:

Catholics practice Mary worship

Catholics worship the Pope

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Just thumbs down them, they'll disappear from your screen and it's much easier to pretend they're not there at all!

God bless.
Whenever I bear false witness against my Wiccan neighbors, I tell the cops I saw them stealing.

JUST KIDDING

seriously, yes, that is wrong. If you're going to argue against something, you should at least be correct in what you argue against.

as the person above said, Catholics get the same schtick

A standard religious technique is to lie about something in order to justify persecuting and belittling it. Hitler used the same techniques.

They use the same techniques against science and evolution and Atheists, its simply something that faith compels them to do.
There will always be those who are to lazy to think for themslves and it always seems to be the ones who know the least who make the most noise in defense of the bs they are supporting at the moment
It would take knowledge and original thought to do otherwise.
Could it be they don't mind lying because they don't actually believe in the teachings of their own religion?
Because the truth has an inconvenient way of not fitting in with their reality.
They have been reading Silver Ravenwolf novels, kind of leaves 'em sour.
Some people just prefer to remain ignorant and spread lies. It makes them feel like they can control the situation.
*If they were so sure it is wrong they would at least not fear getting the facts straight but sadly they seem to be willing to lie about it.*

I totally agree, it is frustrating. When a Christian does this, they also are being boastful of their own religion and pride is a deadly sin isn't it?

I feel sorry for people who spend so much time going after people who aren't even attacking them in the first place. Some people need to get a hobby. ;)
Your question raises an interesting philosophical question: Is it truly ';bearing false witness'; if they genuinely believe what they say? If they do, then what they post is a mistake, not a lie. Granted that it is no less false, it does mean that, by their own theology they are innocent of sin, and, on that count at least, in no danger of damnation. As to why they do it, Hitler once said ';Give me a boy until he's eight, I'll have him the rest of his life';. If they have been raised to be completely closed minded, as many have - the ';God said it, I believe it, that settles it'; mentality - they would naturally assume that no discussion or evidence is needed, that all that was needed was to constantly repeat their ';true'; opinion. Those people we can do nothing about, we just have to keep reiterating the facts for the people who are honestly curious or have simply never heard an alternative point of view, as you did here, for which I thank you. Blessed be.
I'm afraid you won't make a dent in the willful ignorance exhibited by some Christians and Muslims. The don't want to know that other religions are beautiful, loving as just as valid as theirs. If they did so, they'd have to question their own religions and teachings.

A few others like the arrogance of believing that they are better than other religions.

I sometimes think it's a losing battle and then there are some Christians that are willing to learn and be tolerant. Not enough but enough to give hope.
Sweetie, trying to point out to these people that they are being hypocrites by bearing false witness against Wiccans and Pagans is a waste of breath. The type of people you speak of have blinders on, not to mention selective streaks when it comes to exactly which commandments they are adament about upholding and which ones are ';eh, that don't really apply to this situation';.

They will always do and say what they will. The best thing to do is keep living your life and make them eat their words by being a good person.
This sounds like a case of do what I say not as I do. You only want it your way.
