no, emo's cut themselves so they can take away the pain that family, or friends are causing. So when they cut themselves it takes there mind off of what pain the family caused, and puts the pain on themselves.

Erm...not all emo;s cut. But i used to self harm + i hated the scars, they reminded me of what a selfish ***** i am. But when I was cutting, it helped take the pain away of everything because it 1. Made it feel like i was doing something about me being a ***** up. 2. Because it helped take away some of the pain inside.
